Forum of Low-Emission Economy
19th April 2013, 9.00 am,
Central Agricultural Library, Krakowskie Przedmieście 66, Warsaw

Ladies and Gentleman,

We have been organizing Energy Efficiency Forum for fours years now. This year we decided to transform its formula into Forum of Low-Emission Economy. The reason for this change springs from the strategic importance of the National Programme for Development of Low-Emission Economy  and our share in its elaboration. NPDLE is one out of eight strategic programs of the Polish government – fundamental for all sectors of our economy and primarily for our environment.

During the conference we would like to share with a wider audience our perspective on the following topics:

  • basic and detailed objectives of the Programme and their justification
  • 11 professional sectors of the Programme’s implementation
  • synthetic information on several hundreds of more detailed fields of activities planned within the Programme
  • evaluation and priority criteria of the above mentioned activities
  • direction of future works on the Programme
  • information on activities run by the Board within and without the framework of the Programme

The fundamental objective of the Forum is to show to the domestic and international (European) audience that Poland is currently working on elaboration of its own model of low-emission economy development, or in other words, that Poles are not geese, have a tongue of their own. Presentation of the Polish perspective shall help to justify the reasons for Poland to question the model proposed by richest EU-member states and to formulate its own – more sustainable and durable in terms of development. We would like to convince the domestic public opinion that the core issue of the National Program for Development of  Low-Emission Economy is economic development while remaining attributes only define its nationality, programming and low-emission capacity. In other words, it is a reformulation of the article 5 of Polish Constitution which stresses the importance of sustainable development.

We anticipate participation of following guests who will elaborate on the above mentioned topics: Professor Jerzy Buzek, Member of the European Parliament, Chairman of the Public Board of the National Programme for Development of Low-Emission Economy, Janusz Piechociński, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Marcin Korolec, Minister of Environment, Grażyna Hanclewska, Secretary of State in Ministry of Economy,  Peter Altmaier, Federal Minister of Environemnt, Germany, Edward „Ed” Davey, Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, Great Britain, Lena Ek,  Minister of Environment, Sweden, Martin Lidegaard, Minister for Climate and Energy, Denmark, Marek Woszczyk, President of the Energy Regulatory Office, Beata Stelmach, Deputy Minister for Global Economic Policy Promotion and Culture, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tomasz Dąbrowski, Director of the Energy Department, Minstry of the Economy, Tomasz Michalski, Director of the Department of Transport, Policy and International Cooperation, Ministry of Transport Construction and Maritime Economy, Kazimierz Żmuda, Deputy Director, Department of Rural Markets , Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Zbigniew Kamieński, Deputy Director, Department of Innovation and Industry, Ministry of the Economy, Prof. Krzysztof Jan Kurzydłowski, Director of National Centre for Research and Development, Andrzej Malinowski, President of Employers of Poland, Małgorzata Skucha, President of the Board of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, Prof. Michał Kleiber, Chairman of the Polish Academy of Science, Vice-Chairman of the Public Board of the National Programme for Development of Low-Emission Economy, Prof. Krzysztof Żmijewski, Secretary General of the Public Board of the National Programme for Development of Low-Emission Economy, Grażyna Piotrowska-Oliwa, Chairman of the Board, PGNiG, Herbert Wirth, PhD, Chairman of the Board, KGHM Polska Miedź, Dariusz Lubera, Chairman of the Board, Tauron Polska Energia, Krzysztof Kilian, Chairman of the Board, PGE, Marian Strumiłło, Vice Chairman of the Board, Dalkia Polska, Philippe Castanet, Chairman of the Board, EDF Polska, Mikael Lemström, Chairman of the Board, Fortum Power & Heat Polska
