V INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE
NEUF 2009 - New Energy User Friendly

The European 3x20 Programme -  Implementation problems
18 June 2009, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Primate's Palace, ul. Senatorska 13/15, Warsaw

The subject of the conference is the highly relevant and valid issue of elaboration of specific legal provisions allowing for implementation of the Energy and Climate Package whilst simultaneously taking into account the specific characteristics of the Polish economy. The speakers of the conference, leading experts representing strategic sectors of the economy that will be most influenced by the tools set out in the Package, will broach the subjects of the future of the Polish energy market in a European context and possibilities for improving energy efficiency and security.  Other topics for discussion will include dangers facing the internal industry sector and technological potential that can improve the functioning of the energy sector and economy. We have also invited to take part representatives of European Commission - DG TREN, DG Environment, DG REGIO, DG Competition, DG Enterprise.
We would like to inform that we have received a confirmation that Mr. KARL FALKENBERG will participate in a conference personally - read more >>>

Several representatives of the European Commission beyond KARL FALKENBERG, Director General, DG Environment - Manfred Beschel, Director, DG REGIO, Chris Bolesta, Policy Officer, DG TREN and Kamila Kloc- Evison, Case Handler, DG Competition - have confirmed their participation in the conference.

We would also like to touch upon issues connected with stimulating growth of the competitiveness of the energy market in Poland. For a long time participants of public debates have been suggesting that we are lacking a unified vision of the way in which the electric energy system should be formed. Everyone has been pointing out the necessity of implementing new investments, the execution of which seems unrealistic without a properly constructed and fully competitive market ruled by the criteria of supply and demand. The aim of the conference is also to identify efficient means of increasing competitiveness and efficiency without jeopardising energy security.

The conference is of an open and international nature. We have also invited to take part representatives of the European Commission - DG Environment and DG TREN. We anticipate the participation of over 100 guests - politicians, representatives of the energy and industry sectors, public administration and scientific circles. We are certain that as a result of discussions between experts from Poland and abroad we will be able to define the possibility of creating a real chance for development for the Polish economy.
